Summer Break

Are you wondering what to do on your summer break?  No practice to get to on time.  No burpees to do.  No coach driving you to push harder?  You want to just kick back and relax don't you?

Summer break is for doing all the things you didn't have time to do during season.

  • Clean your gear  - seriously.  The hot summer sun is ideal for drying pads and it helps kill bacteria
  • Check your straps, velcro, laces, toeguards.  Replace them now.  
  • Clean your bearings.  Clean bearings will help you get more roll out of every push of your skate.
  • Rotate your wheels.  Check wheels for treadwear and swap places so you are putting more tread where you need it.  
  • Check your helmet, replace the padding.  Every time you go down, the padding effectiveness is reduced.  
  • Replace your mouthguard.  
  • Read the rules
  • Cross train.  Do something fun.  Swim, bike, or anything that works cardio or core.
